FAQ’s

How do I know if my child is a good candidate for Mindoneers?

We'll complete a full evaluation of all core nine areas to determine if your child is a good fit and how to best assist them.

When can I expect to start seeing an improvement?

You may see improvement as early as three weeks into the program and significant changes are generally evident within 3 months.

What kind of commitment does this program require from the parents?

Your child will have a 60-minute in-house (or Zoom) session once a week. They will be given four 1-hour homework exercises to be completed at home before the following week’s session. Some participants will hire private instructors to come to their home for these exercises, though that is a matter of preference and parent availability.

We’re in the middle of other therapy for our child (OT, Speech, etc.). Are they compatible with your program?

Yes! The Mindomeers exercises were created in partnership with professionals from numerous other therapy fields. There is no need to stop other therapy when beginning the Mindoneers program.

Is this a computer program?

No, Mindoneers is not a computer program. Our dedicated therapists work hard with each individual for maximum hands-on learning. The result of this approach allows for the successes to carry over into everyday real life. The instructors are also on hand to assist you with any challenges that arise at home or in school.

How do I get my child on board?

Your instructor will explain to both you and your child where their struggles lie and what the plan is going forward. This insight - and clear plan - gives them (and you) an understanding as to how this will help stop the endless intervention-cycle and typically motivates them to get started.

What age range is this therapy most effective for?

Our graduates range from ages 7-52. However, we’ve found ages 9-12 to be the optimal time.

What happens after 26-32 weeks of therapy? What long-term results can I expect?

You are done! Watch with amazement and joy as your child puts their newly-developed skills to use. The program builds and sharpens skills that are used in everyday life. Daily living, and by definition, practice of the new skills, is the best maintenance program and no future intervention or support is needed. Continued progress and new successes are often seen two (and more) years after completing the program.

Why would I choose Mindoneers over a tutor?

A traditional intervention/chavrusah helps your child to succeed on the one specific test/subject that was reviewed together. The time invested has zero positive impact on the next chapter that they will be learning. Mindoneers helps your child build and create a skill set they can rely on for continual, lifelong success.

I don't live in the same city as any of your locations. Can I still do Mindoneers?

Yes! We offer Zoom sessions to out-of-town participants. This can be a good option for you if you are highly motivated and determined to make everlasting change in your child’s life. However, it is common for out-of-town participants to come to the Mindoneers office for an initial evaluation, and 2-5 sessions over the course of the program.

Long-term success. Not short-term
improvement.
